How is my order shipped and what will it cost?
We ship orders primarily via Fed-Ex 2-day service and USPS Priority mail. If you wish to recieve your package via UPS, You can obtain an accurate calculation of UPS shipping costs during the checkout phase of an online order, or you can call or email us for a quote. Cost is mainly determined by total package weight and delivery location distance from the shipper. If your shipping needs are not addressed in this section, please give us a call.
When will my order ship?
Orders that we receive before Noon 12:00 PM Eastern Time (ET) typically
ship on the same day they are received. Orders received after Noon 12:00
PM ET typically ship on the following business day (weekends and
national holidays are not considered business days). We strive
hard to meet the above guidelines, however, we do not guarantee
that every package will ship accordingly. If the arrival date of
your package is extremely crucial, please contact us by phone or
email (orders@tripodhead.com)
to ensure that your order arrives on time.
How is shipping handled for out of stock items?
If you ordered other items along with an out of stock item, the in stock items will be shipped within 24 hours of processing your order payment. By way of compensation for the delay in shipping the out of stock items, Fed-ex or Priority mail shipping is free for out of stock items. If you select an expedited service, you will have to pay the difference between the two. Note: Shipping is calculated by our website merchant when you place your order online, but it is not charged to your card until your order is processed. Your shipping discount will be applied when your order is processed on the day your item is shipped. Your shipping discount will show on the paid invoice that is included with your order.

Methods, Transit Times, and Delivery Information
We offer the following shipping methods (listed with their corresponding transit times).
FedEx 2-day - (1-2 *Business-Days, Transit Time Not Guaranteed)
This service is very reliable and economical but estimated transit times are not guaranteed. This service is offered at a flat rate of $5 per shipment and free for orders over $100.
USPS - (1-3 *Business-Days, Transit Time Not Guaranteed)
This service is very reliable and economical but estimated transit times are not guaranteed. If this method is selected we will ship via Priority Mail. The only exception is for packages shipped east of the Mississippi under 1 lb which will ship 1st class package service. This service is offered at a flat rate of $5 per shipment and free for orders over $100.
UPS Ground - (1-6 *Business-Days, Transit Time Not Guaranteed)
This service is very reliable but relatively expensive and estimated transit times are not guaranteed (they are generally quite accurate). Estimated transit times are based on destination distance. We are located in Virginia (Zip Code 22902). Use the UPS Ground Transit Time Map to estimate transit time for this service.
UPS Next-Day Air - (1 *Business-Day, Guaranteed) - typically arrives before 10:30 AM
UPS 2nd-Day Air - (2 *Business-Days, Guaranteed)
UPS 3-Day Select - (3 *Business-Days, Guaranteed) - not available for Alaska or Hawaii
Transit times apply to continental US shipments only. For a more detailed explanations of UPS delivery schedules and delivery practices please refer to their website www.ups.com.
*Business Days (as defined by UPS) do not include the day of shipment, weekends, or national holidays. For example: A package shipped on Wednesday via 2nd Day Air (2 Business Day transit time) will arrive on Friday. If it were shipped on Thursday, it would arrive on the following Monday.
